Instructors must live or work in the Manchester Connecticut USA area and be available day, evening or Saturday morning.
Instructors must be able to work legally in the US, as independent contractors. We do not help with work visas.
All teaching is part-time and temporary.
Instructors must have a Social Security Number or Federal Tax ID. (Do not send)
Instructors are not employees. Instructors must pay their federal and state taxes.
A car, a telephone and a professional attitude are essential.
Instructors must have a native command of the language,
about 1 year experience teaching the language,
a patient personality,
reliability, (answering phone calls, keeping appointments)
adequate time for teaching and class preparation.
Instructors must have willingness to meet with the prospective student to let the student decide if he/she wants to take lessons from you.
Instructors must not misrepresent themselves to Second Language, LLC or prospective students regarding their country of origin and language ability.
We are looking for instructors of Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, Polish, German, ESL, Pronunciation, French, Mandarin, Japanese, Russian, Haitian Creole, Hebrew and Modern Greek.
Instructors of other languages are welcome. Although we already are dealing with instructors for several of these languages,
we would like to hear from other interested individuals who may be able to bring a unique set of qualifications to our school.
Instructors tutor private individuals and conduct classes in our Manchester/Vernon office
and at businesses, and sometimes in the student's office,
or at other locations acceptable to both student and instructor.
Instructors must be age 18 or older, but there is no "age barrier" here. Retired individuals are encouraged to contact us.
If you are invited to an interview,
please be prepared to bring a resume/CV and list of references to your interview,
please be prepared to give a 10 minute demonstration lesson.
Are you able to deliver a 30 minute demonstration lesson a few days after your interview?
We do not offer training or internships.
We do not tell you to teach. If the student likes your teaching, you continue teaching the student.
You must buy your own books, pens, pencils, and paper.
We do not reimburse for mileage, books, pens, pencils, paper or other materials that you need to teach as an independent contractor.
