Instructor Welcome
Welcome to Second Language LLC. Here is a summary.
Teaching Businesses and Private Individuals
You must work as an independent contractor. You must have a valid Social Security number or IRS Tax ID.
You are not paid for photocopying, postage, telephone calls, mileage, parking or tolls.
These are valid deductions from income.
Note that the mileage deduction for 2010 is $0.50 which means that you get a deduction from income of $10 for driving 10 miles to teach a class.
We don’t tell you how to teach. The Client decides if your teaching is effective, not us.
You will not discuss politics, religion, or sexual topics in classes.
You may not work for the Client for one year after the last day that you teach the Client for us.
You may work for any other client that you wish anytime you wish.
You may not violate any non-compete agreement with any other language school.
You may use training materials other than the ones originally agreed upon, but you may not bill Second Language LLC for them.
Second Language LLC pays you a rate higher than that of the other language schools in the area.
You must fill in properly the Class Record Sheet after each class and ask your student to initial it.
Leave it in your folder in the office.
For "off site" classes, (not in Vernon) you must send us email each weekend telling us
the number of hours that you taught and the names of the students.
Please keep us informed of vacations, illness and other changes in your availability.
With the high cost of gas, we suggest that you call ahead to check on classes.
