E.F. came to the USA from Poland in 2001. She has been teaching music for 38 years.
Since Polish grammar can be difficult for many,
she teaches Polish in a very interesting and practical way.
She is creative and patient in making the Polish language easier for the student,
and makes her classes effective by sharing her Polish culture.
Scheduling of lessons is flexible, morning and afternoon.
P. R. was born in Torino, grew up in Sicily and lived in Italy until 1999. While in Siracusa, Sicily,
she taught Italian to Americans, Brazilians and British employees of oil refineries.
After coming to the USA, she has been teaching Italian language and culture to Americans.
She completed her MBA in International Business in Connecticut.
She is ready to teach new students her favorite language, Italian.
M.B. was educated at the University of Conn, received a BA in Spanish with a minor in French;
her studies included a semester in Madrid.
After working in the travel industry for several years, she relocated to Belgium for a period of three and half years,
immersing herself in the local French-speaking culture.
She traveled extensively during this period and also pursued classes in German and cooking.
Upon her return, she has been teaching French at a private elementary school and tutoring in Spanish in her spare time, as well as teaching in a local preschool.
She loves working with youngsters of all ages and enjoys sharing her love of languages with others.
She has also hosted a number of teenagers from Belgium and France for extended summer visits.
S. G. is certified by Connecticut to teach ESL. She has a BA and an MA.
She currently teaches ESL in the Hartford school system.
She has taught ESL for the comprehensive State of Connecticut program.
She is eminently qualified to teach students from any language background.
D.B. Worked several years as a tutor with Literacy Volunteers and at a Church-related youth center in Hartford.
He joined us in 2006 and has had complete success teaching English and American pronunciation to students from various backgrounds,
including Somalia, Brazil, Puerto Rico and Colombia.
S. A. teaches English and ESL.
He spent 11 years teaching ESL in Taiwan, China, and the U.S.
His degrees are: BA in Sociology; AA in Humanities
He has the TEFL Language teaching certificate
He is currently pursuing Connecticut TESL Certification and a Master's in TESL.
He has some fluency in Mandarin Chinese.
L.B. was born in Russia. She has a masters degree in engineering.
She taught in Russia before coming to the United States.
She has taught Russian for 3 years in the United States.
She is a patient teacher and would be happy to get you speaking Russian.
S. W. lived in France 8 years, in Paris and Marseille.
She taught English in the French school system and to management at France Telecom
and the PTT.
She taught French and French culture for two years in Northwestern Connecticut.
Passionate about French, a language that she has mastered, both in grammar and pronunciation,
she looks forward to sharing her love for French and France with you.
X. T. was a certified teacher in China where she taught Mandarin Chinese for 8 years.
She taught Mandarin Chinese at the Chinese Cultural Center in England for 2 years,
and is now teaching Mandarin Chinese at a local Chinese Cultural Center.
She has a B. A. degree and would enjoy helping you to speak Chinese.
L.L. is an international opera singer. She was born in Albania where she received her BA degree.
She taught in Greece where she lived 10 years. She is an instructor at Capital Community College
and Manchester Community College. She is fluent in English, Greek, Albanian and Italian.
She would be happy to share her love for Greek and Albanian with you.
D. L. was born in China. She has taught Chinese in a Chinese language school, and now teaches Chinese in a local Chinese Cultural Center.
She will make learning Chinese fun.
G. G. founded Second Language, LLC, January 2005, after a long career in Information Technology.
His interest in languages and cultures led him to travel to the following countries:
Belgium, Bermuda, Canada, Cayman Islands, Denmark, Egypt, England, France, Germany, Greece, Israel, Italy,
Jordan, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Puerto Rico, South Africa, Scotland, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland,

He has taught English, French and Italian at various language schools.
He speaks French, Spanish, Italian and Greek.
He teaches French, Greek, English as a Second Language, and American English Pronunciation.
L. V. was born and grew up in Colombia.
She has long experience teaching Spanish at language schools and privately.
She has taught nurses and doctors in Saint Francis and Windham hospital,
plus other individual doctors on a one on one basis.
She is familiar with medical terminology.
She is a skilled teacher and enjoys sharing her language and culture with others.
Her pleasant, patient personality makes for an enjoyable and beneficial learning experience.
She has a Superior Level certificate for teaching Spanish from ACTFL (American Council on the Teaching of Foreign Languages)
E. K. was an ESL Tutor for 15 years for private language schools and the
Bristol Board of Education.
She taught English at a local language school and has been teaching for
Second Language, LLC since 2006.
Her degrees are in English and History.
She has written and edited
articles for an internationally known hobby journal, QST.
E. S. has more than 30 years of teaching experience in the Greater Hartford area.
With a Bachelors and Masters Degrees in Education she has considerable experience teaching English,
both spoken and written, to persons with limited or no English skills.
She also has instructed students in basic sign language and would very much like to teach mothers to talk to their babies with Baby Sign language.
